Sensex falls 300 pts in early trade

The BSE benchmark Sensex, which fell by over 300 points in early trade today, was trading 395 points in the negative zone at 16,472 when reports last came in. The 30-share index had lost 298 points in the previous session on Friday. In a similar fashion, the wide-based National Stock Exchange Nifty index was trading 128 points in the red at 4,931 points. In the Asian region, Japan's Nikkei index was trading 2 per cent lower, while Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index tumbled 3.27 per cent in early trade today. The US Dow Jones Industrial Average closed 2.69 per cent lower on Friday last.
