The domestic stock markets closed with losses today. The Sensex at the Bombay Stock Exchange fell 287 points, or 0.84 per cent, to end just above 34 thousand mark at 34,011. Similarly, the Nifty at the National Stock Exchange lost 93 points, or 0.88 percent, to 10,452.In Asian stocks today, trading took place only in Japanese market. Tokyo's Nikkei 225 rose 1.18 percent. All major European markets were up during intra-day trade. London's FTSE-100 rose 0.80 and France's CAC-40 gained 0.98 percent while Germany's DAX was up 0.99 percent when reports last came in.Wall Street surged yesterday to notch its fifth straight session of gains, led by technology stocks.The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 1.23 per cent, the S&P 500 gained 1.21 percent and the Nasdaq Composite added 1.58 percent. Markets were able to shake off economic data for a second consecutive session that indicated inflation pressures were building while weekly jobless claims data yesterday pointed to a tightening labor market.
