The Sensex at the Bombay Stock Exchange declined 33 points, or 0.2 per cent, to 17,175, in opening trade, this morning, as funds and retail investors booked profits after yesterday's gains. Later, the Sensex lost some more ground, and stood 128 points, or 0.8 percent in the red, at 17,079 in afternoon deals, a short while ago. But other Asian stock markets in Japan, China, South Korea, Japan, Singapore and Taiwan were up by between 0.1 percent and 0.8 percent, today, led by sharp gains in technology shares. Across on Wall Street, the US Dow Jones Industrial Average had gained 0.6 per cent, overnight.
