Maintaining its gaining spree for fourth consecutive sessions, the market on Wednesday gained marginally to end in the green. The benchmark index at the Bombay Stock Exchange which opened 72 points up in the early trade saw a downfall later to finally end 27 points higher at 18300. Nifty remained almost unchanged from Tuesday's close at 5,481 with a gain of mere 0.70 points. The Midcap and Smallcap index too registered gains. The Midcap index closed at 6734, up by 35 points. The Smallcap index closed at 8247 up by 82 points.
