Erasing early losses, the Sensex at the Bombay Stock Exchange closed 149 points, or 0.9 percent higher, at 16,863, as investors picked up blue-chips, amid positive European markets on Tuesday.The Nifty at the National Stock Exchange gained 47 points, or 0.9 percent, to 5,064. Stock markets in Japan, China, Hong Kong, Singapore, and South Korea ended mixed.
