Falling for the second straight session, the Sensex at the Bombay Stock Exchange declined 139 points, or 0.9 percent, to 16,146 on Thursday, on rising food inflation and interest rate concerns.The Nifty at the National Stock Exchange fell 49 points, or 1 percent, to 4,840.But stock markets in Japan , China , Hong Kong , South Korea and Singapore rose between 0.5 percent and 3 percent.
