The Sensex at the Bombay Stock Exchange dropped 118 points, or 0.6 percent, to 18,376, amid weak Asian markets on Friday. The Nifty at the National Stock Exchange fell 34 points, 0.6 percent, to 5,517. Stock markets in Japan, Singapore, Hong Kong, and South Korea fell between 0.1 percent and 1.3 percent.
