The Sensex at the Bombay Stock Exchange stood 64 points, or 0.3 percent in negative territory, at 19,718 in afternoon trade, a short while ago. Earlier in the morning, the Sensex had lost 80 points, or 0.4 percent, to 19,702 on selling by funds and retail investors, amid weak regional bourses.Other Asian markets in China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, China, South Korea and Singapore had lost between 0.1 percent and 0.9 percent, today, as investors fretted that the latest stronger-than-expected US jobless-claims data have increased the chances of the US Federal Reserve announcing a trimming of its monetary stimulus at next week's meeting. The US Dow Jones Industrial Average had ended 0.2 per cent lower in yesterday's trade.
