Giving up all its initial gains, amid volatilty, the Sensex at the Bombay Stock Exchange stood 38 points, or 0.2 percent in negative territory, at 19,570 in afternoon trade, a short while ago. Earlier, in the morning, however, the Sensex had opened with a gain of 20 points, or 0.1 per cent, at 19,628, on selective buying by funds and retail investors. The Sensex had climbed over 147 points in the previous two trading sessions.Stock markets in Japan, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Singapore and South Korea were trading mixed, today. The US Dow Jones Industrial Average had fallen 0.3 percent, yesterday.

Sensex drops over 30 points in volatile afternoon trade
