The Sensex at the Bombay Stock Exchange gave up all its initial gains, and had declined 216 points, or 0.8 percent, to 25,622 in afternoon trade. Similarly, the Nifty at the National Stock Exchange had dropped 61 points, to 7,838. Other key Asian markets in Japan, China, Hong Kong, South Korea and Singapore had lost between 0.1 percent and 0.9 percent. And at the forex market, the rupee had slumped 26 paise, to 66 rupees 75 paise against the dollar in afternoon trade.
