Sensex drops by 213 pts, Rupee down by 36 paise, Gold sheds 350 rupees

Snapping a two-day rally, the Sensex at the Bombay Stock Exchange dropped 213 points, or 1.3 percent, to 16,285, on Wednesday, on profit-booking by investors, amid falling Asian markets. The Nifty lost 60 points, or 1.2 percent, to 4,889.Stock markets in Japan, China, Hong Kong, South Korea and Singapore fell between 0.5 percent and 2 percent, after credit rating agency, Moody's downgraded Japan's debt rating.The rupee weakened 36 paise, to 45.99 against the dollar. Gold lost 350 rupees, to 27,840 rupees per ten grams in Delhi. Silver shed 800 rupees, to 64,200 rupees per kilo. And U.S. crude oil futures lost 30 cents, to 85.14 dollars a barrel, while Brent crude fell below 109 dollars a barrel.
