Extending its losses for the seventh straight session, the Sensex at the Bombay Stock Exchange dropped 88 points, or 0.4 percent, to close at 20,194, today, amid worries about a possible interest rate hike by the Reserve Bank, and fresh talk of the US Federal Reserve looking at tapering its monetary stimulus. The Sensex has now lost almost 1,050 points in seven days. The Nifty at the National Stock Exchange fell 28 points, or 0.5 percent, to 5,990. Stock markets in Japan, China, Hong Kong, South Korea and Singapore declined between 0.2 percent and 1.9 percent.
