The Sensex of the Bombay Stock Exchange opened 59 points higher today, triggered by positive global cues but soon lost its gains and in the intra-day trade the Sensex fell 101 points slipping past 18,000-mark to 17,977. The Nifty of the National Stock Exchange lost 31 points to 5398. In Asia, all the major indices in Japan, China, Hong Kong, South Korea and Singapore were trading higher between 0.5 and 2.5% in intra-day trade.
