The Bombay Stock Exchange benchmark Sensex today gained 92 points to open at 20,407 in the morning trade. Later it lost its initial gains and was trading at 20, 272, down by over 42 points a short while ago. Similarly, the wide-based National Stock Exchange index Nifty after was trading at 6106 down by over 14 points. In Asian markets, the Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index was marginally up by 0.13 per cent, while Japanese Nikkei was down by 0.10 per cent in the morning trade today. In US the Dow Jones Industrial Index closed 0.17 percent lower yesterday.
