Sensex down by over 100 points in opening trade

Snapping its five-day rising streak, the Sensex at the Bombay Stock Exchange fell from its recently createdrecords by losing nearly 105 points, to 21,134, in early trade today, as funds and retail investors booked profits amid a mixed trend in other Asian markets. The 30-share index had gained around 670 points in the previous five sessions. The Nifty at the National Stock Exchange moved down by 30 points to 6,287. In the Asian region, Japan's Nikkei Index was down 0.16 per cent, while Hong Kong's Hang Seng index was up 0.53 per cent in early trade.
