The Bombay Stock Exchange benchmark index was trading at 16762, down by 85 points in the noon trade when reports last came in. Sensex had risen by 120 points to 16,963 in opening trade. The wide-based National Stock Exchange index Nifty was also down by 22 points at 4979 when last report came in. It was up by 30 points at 5,032 points in opening trade.
