Sensex down by 33 points in noon trade

The Sensex at the Bombay Stock Exchange slipped 43 points, to 20,889, in opening trade, this morning, on profit-booking, and lower-than-expected quarterly earnings of telecom major, Bharti Airtel. After recovering to move into the green, the Sensex against lost ground, and stood 33 points, or 0.2 percent in the red, at 20,899, in volatile trade, a short while ago. Other Asian markets in Japan, Taiwan, South Korea, Singapore, China and Hong Kong were trading mixed, today. Over in the US, the Dow Jones Industrial Average had lost 0.5 per cent, overnight.
