The Sensex at the Bombay Stock Exchange declined 77 points, or 0.4 per cent, to 19,364 in early trade, this morning, on selling by funds, as the rupee slumped to a new all-time low against the dollar, and as regional markets also lost ground. Later, selling pressure intensified, and the Sensex had fallen 290 points, or 1.5 per cent, to 19,151 in afternoon trade, a short while ago.Stock markets in Japan, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Indonesia, Singapore and South Korea had declined between 0.3 percent and 2.5 percent, today.
