The Sensex at the Bombay Stock Exchange lost 88 points, to again fall below the 18,000 level, at 17,924 in opening trade on Wednesday, on fresh selling by investors, amid weakness in the other regional bourses. Later, the Sensex lost further ground, and stood 192 points, or 1.1 percent in the negative zone, at 17,820, in afternoon deals, a short while ago. Stock markets in Japan, China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Singapore, South Korea and Taiwan were down by between 0.3 percent and 1.2 percent on Tuesday, as investors continued to worry about the euro-zone debt crisis. Over on Wall Street, the Dow Jones Industrial Average had ended 0.2 per cent lower in Tuesday's trade, after data showed that the market for new homes in the US remained weak.
