The Bombay Stock Exchange benchmark Sensex fell by 144 points to 16353 in noon trade on Wednesday. Sensex which gained nearly 357 points in the previous two sessions, fell by 92 points to 16,405 in the first few minutes of trade on Wednesday. In a similar fashion, the wide-based National Stock Exchange Nifty index shed 43 points to 4905.
