The Sensex at the Bombay Stock Exchange fell 80 points, to 18,967 in opening trade, this morning, on profit- booking, and weak Asian markets. After paring some of its early losses, the Sensex stood 14 points, or 0.1 percent in the red, at 19,032, in afternoon deals, a short while ago. Other Asian markets in Japan, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Singapore and South Korea were down by between 0.4 percent and 3 percent, on worries that rising inflation may invite aggressive policy tightening and hurt growth. In the US, the Dow Jones Industrial Average had closed flat, overnight.
