Sensex down 96 pts to close at 19,485

Falling for the seventh straight session, the Sensex at the Bombay Stock Exchange lost 96 points, or 0.5 percent, to close at 19,485, on fag-end selling by investors, today. The Sensex has now dropped 521 points in the last seven trading sessions, and this is the longest losing streak for the index since November 2011. The Nifty at the National Stock Exchange fell 35 points, or 0.6 percent, to 5,904.But stock markets in China, Hong Kong, South Korea and Singapore gained between 0.2 percent and 1 percent.
