Sensex down 78 points in early trade

The Bombay Stock Exchange benchmark Sensex fell over 78 points in early trade today on capital outflows by foreign funds amid weak Asian cues. The 30-share index, which had lost 80 points in the previous session, fell further by 78 points or 0.43 per cent to 17,774. The wide-based National Stock Exchange index Nifty also declined by 22 points, or 0.42 per cent to 5,317. The Hong Kong's Hang Seng shed 0.14 per cent and Japan's Nikkei lost 0.98 per cent in the Tuesday morning trade.
