Snapping a nine-day winning streak, the Sensex at the Bombay Stock Exchange closed with a modest loss of 46 points, or 0.3 percent, at 18,496, today, on profit-booking by investors after recent strong gains, a rise in retail inflation, and weak global markets. The Sensex had gained over 1,200 points in the previous nine trading session. The Nifty at the National Stock Exchange fell 10 points, or 0.2 percent, to 5,600.Key stock indices in Japan, China, Hong Kong and Singapore lost between 0.3 percent and 0.9 percent.
