Sensex down 118 points in noon trade<br/>

Recovering partially from initial losses, the Sensex at the Bombay Stock Exchange stood 118 points, or 0.6 percent in negative territory, at 19,798 in afternoon trade, a short while ago. Earlier in the morning, the Sensex had declined 203 points, or 1 percent, to 19,713, on profit-booking by investors, amid weak regional bourses. The 30-share Sensex had gained 536 points in the previous three trading sessions. Stock markets in Japan, Hong Kong, South Korea and Singapore has lost between 0.1 percent and 1.2 percent, today, amid the lack of progress in resolving the US budget standoff.
