Sensex dips further; Goes down below 27 thousand mark

Falling for the third straight session, the Sensex at the Bombay Stock Exchange dropped 62 points, or 0.2 percent, to close below the 27,000-mark, at a nearly two-week low of 26,996, today. The Nifty at the National Stock Exchange fell 8 points, to 8,086. The rupee appreciated 2 paise, to 60.93 against the dollar. Gold fell 190 rupees, to 27,610 rupees per ten grams in Delhi. Silver declined 270 rupees, to 41,900 rupees per kilo.And Brent crude oil futures slipped to a 17-month low near 97 dollars a barrel, while US crude fell 60 cents, to 91.07 dollars a barrel.
