Snapping a four session rally, the Sensex at the Bombay Stock Exchange fell 85 points, or 0.5 per cent, to 17,616, on profit-booking, today. The Nifty at the National Stock Exchange lost 19 points, or 0.4 percent, to 5,263. Stock markets in Japan, China, Hong Kong, South Korea and Singapore fell between 0.5 percent and 2 pe rcent. The rupee appreciated 17 paise, to 45.67 against the dollar.Gold dropped 10 rupees, to 16,795 rupees per ten grams in Mumbai. Crude oil futures fell 74 cents, to 82.44 dollars a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
