The Sensex at the Bombay Stock Exchange dropped 249 points, or 1.3 percent, to close at 18,336 amid weak Asian and European markets on Thursday. The Nifty at the National Stock Exchange declined 79 points, or 1.4 percent, to 5,486.Stock markets in Japan, China, Hong Kong, South Korea and Singapore lost between 1 percent and 2 percent.
