Sensex dips 132 points on global woes

Falling for the sixth straight session, the Sensex at the Bombay Stock Exchange declined 132 points, or 0.8 percent, to 16,858, after volatile trade, and amid a rout in the global stock markets on Tuesday. The Nifty at the National Stock Exchange dropped 46 points, or 0.9 percent, to 5,073.The bourses in Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore, and South Korea suffered bigger losses of between 1.5 percent and 3.7 percent. European markets also slumped.
