The Sensex at the Bombay Stock Exchange declined 251 points, or 0.9 percent, to close at 27,351, today. The Nifty at the National Stock Exchange fell 69 points, to 8,224. Brent crude oil futures slipped to an over five-year low under 63 dollars a barrel, while US crude also fell to an over five-year low under 59 dollars a barrel. Recovering smartly after falling to an over ten-month low of 62.50 against the dollar, the rupee ended with a gain of 4 paise, at 62.29 against the US currency. And gold rose 10 rupees, to 27,310 per ten grams in Delhi. Silver gained 360 rupees, to 38,560 rupees per kilo.
