Sensex declines 102 pts in noon trade

The Sensex at the Bombay Stock Exchange declined 114 points, or 0.7 per cent, to 16,325 in early trade, this morning, as funds and retail investors booked profits after two days of gains, amid rupee weakness, and negative regional bourses. Later, the Sensex remained weak, and stood 102 points, or 0.6 per cent in the red, at 16,336, in afternoon deals, a short while ago. The 30-share index had gained over 220 points in the previous two trading sessions. Other Asian markets in Japan, China, Indonesia, Singapore, Hong Kong, Taiwan and South Korea were down by between 0.2 percent and 1.7 percent, today, as another credit rating downgrade for Spain raised fresh concerns about the euro zone.
