Sensex continues slide; down 81 points in early trade

Continuing its slide for the second day in a row, the BSE benchmark Sensex fell by over 81 points in opening trade today. The 30-share barometer fell further by 81.50 points to 20,066 on sustained selling by foreign funds and retail investors driven by a weak trend in the Asian region.Similarly, the wide-based National Stock Exchange index Nifty declined by 14 points to 6,091.The Japan's Nikkei fell by 3.46 per cent, while Hong Kong's Hang Seng shed 0.37 per cent in early trade.The US Dow Jones Industrial Average ended 0.69 per cent lower in yesterday's trade.
