The Sensex at the Bombay Stock Exchange closed with a small loss of 14 points, or 0.1 per cent, at 17,527, today. But the Nifty at the National Stock Exchange managed to gain 5 points, or 0.1 percent, to 5,249. Stock markets in China, Hong Kong, and Singapore rose about 0.5 percent, each. Gold rose 150 rupees, to 17,250 rupees per ten grams in Delhi.The rupee appreciated 43 paise, to 45.33 against the dollar.And crude oil futures gained 81 cents, to 83.56 dollars a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
