Amidst high volatility, the Indian markets today ended in the red. The benchmark index at the Bombay Stock Exchange closed at 18,210. losing over 258 points. Although the Sensex opened in the green today, touching a high of 18,569 but heavy selling in the afternoon trade dragged the markets down. Shares of realty, power, FMCG, banking, healthcare, cement, technology and telecom witnessed huge selling. The National Stock Exchange too ended on the lower side. The Nifty closed at 5459., with a loss of over 77 points. The Midcap and the Smallcap indices too ended in the red today. The Midcap index closed at 6800.66, losing 65.30 points. The Smallcap index closed at 8287.07, losing 103.23 points.
