The Sensex at the Bombay Stock Exchange rallied 128 points, or 0.7 per cent, to close at a 23-month high of 17,686, on Tuesday. The Nifty at the National Stock Exchange rose 46 points, or 0.9 per cent, to 5,278. Stock markets in Japan, China, Hong Kong, and Singapore rose between 0.3 and 2 percent, after data showed that US manufacturing expanded at the fastest pace in more than three years.
