Shedding all its initial gains, the Sensex at the Bombay Stock Exchange ended with a loss of 74 points, or 0.4 percent, at 17,119, today. The Nifty of the National Stock Exchange fell 21 points or 0.4 percent to 5,184. After losing almost 377 points in the previous two sessions, the 30-share index recovered by 199 points in opening trade today. The gain is on the back of IT and financial stocks which rose on fresh buying by funds and retail investors, amid a firming trend in global markets.
