Sensex today closed at 18311 points, losing 97.76 points due to weak global cues. The Bombay Stock Exchange 30-share Benchmark index moved 42 points higher in first few minutes but ended up in losing 56 points in morning session. The National Stock Exchange benchmark NIFTY shed 38.40 points to close at 5505.
