Recovering from early losses, the Sensex at the Bombay Stock Exchange closed 40 points, or 0.2 per cent higher, at 16,876, amid rising global markets, on Tuesday, on optimism that plans being to bail the Euro- zone out of the crisis would work out. The Nifty at the National Stock Exchange rose 6 points, or 0.1 percent, to 5,066. Stock markets in Japan, China, Hong Kong, and Singapore rose between 0.1 percent and 1.5 percent.
