Sensex closes 111 pts up

The Sensex at the Bombay Stock Exchange gained 111 points, or 0.7 per cent, to 16,520, on Thursday. The Nifty at the National Stock Exchange rose 28 points, or 0.6 percent, to 4,948. Oil major, ONGC led the rally, as PSU, and oil and gas sector stocks attracted good buying support, a day after the government doubled the price of natural gas.But the bourses in Japan, China, Singapore, Hong Kong and South Korea fell between 0.2 percent and 1.5 percent, as Eurozone worries continued to mar investors' appetite for risk.
