The Sensex at the Bombay Stock Exchange closed 108 points, or 0.6 percent higher, at 17,559, on Thursday. The market rose on news of easing food inflation, and as investors covered pending positions on the expiry of the monthly derivatives contracts. The Nifty at the National Stock Exchange rose 35 points, or 0.7 percent, to 5,260.Stock markets in Japan, China, Hong Kong, Singapore and South Korea ended mixed.
