Benchmark indices today logged gains for second session in afternoon trade. Sensex and Nifty, both, climbed 0.25 percent amid mixed Asian markets.

The Sensex at the Bombay Stock Exchange gained 94 points to trade at 36,412. The Nifty at National Stock Exchange also added 29 points to 10,916 level a short while ago.

However, the rupee at the forex market weakened 16 paise to 71 rupees and 18 paise against the US dollar in afternoon deals.
