The Sensex at the Bombay Stock Exchange ended with a nominal loss of 2 points, at 16,356, after volatile trade, today. The Sensex had gained 64 points at the day's high, and shed 197 points at the day's low. But the Nifty at the National Stock Exchange advanced 18 points, or 0.4 percent, to 4,900. But the broader market outperformed, with the BSE Midcap index rising 1.8 percent, and the Smallcap index jumping 2.7 percent.
