The Sensex at the Bombay Stock Exchange gained 192 points, or 1.2 percent, to 16,644, on a sustained fall in food inflation, and rising Asian markets, today. The Nifty at the National Stock Exchange rose 63 points, or 1.3 percent, to cross the psychological 5,000-mark, and close at 5,018. Stock markets in Japan, China, Hong Kong, South Korea and Singapore advanced between 0.6 percent and 1.3 percent.
