Senior Retired IAS officer Desh Deepak Verma today took over as new Secretary General of Rajya Sabha. Earlier, Mr. Verma retired from the post of Secretary n the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs in 2013 and also worked in other ministries in various capacities.<br/><br/>Mr. Verma had also represented India in several UN Conventions. He is post graduate in Physics from Allahabad University and an MBA from Australia in International Business.
