Senior level delegation from Ladakh meets Defence Minister Rajnath Singh

<span style="color: #222222;">A Senior-level delegation from Ladakh, led by MP Jamyang Tsering Namgyal and Leh CEC Tashi Gyaltson met the Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, yesterday. The delegation discussed various border issues of Eastern Ladakh region, seeking immediate intervention of the defence ministry.<br />'' <br />'' The delegation sought the defence ministry to workout an uninterrupted nomad movement to the traditional pasture lands along borders. The delegation also asked for grazing permission for farmers of Turtuk village and adjoining areas in the west of Leh on Pakistan border.<br />'' <br />'' The delegation consisting of public representatives from zero border villages also sought village development on warfooting with facilities like electricity, mobile network, roads and bunkers.<br />'' <br />'' They also appealed for early completion of strategic Nimoo-Padum-Darcha Road and Turtuk-Hanu Road.<br />'' <br />'' Engagement of locals in Army and works, revision of wages for Siachen porters and better clothing were also among the demands presented to Minister Rajnath Singh.<br />'' <br />'' Similarly, the delegation also sought for economic upliftment with permissions to border tourism, Udan scheme extension to Nubra valley and special quota in jobs for unemployed Bordering village youths.</span><br />''
