In Gujarat, a senior IPS officer Rahul Sharma was today charge sheeted by the state government for indiscipline and misconduct in the service. He was charge sheeted for giving CDs of phone call records of 2002 riots to the investigating agencies without the permission of State Government. The step comes a day after Gujarat High Court had rejected his petition seeking details of the grounds on which he was served a show cause notice last February.AIR Ahmedabad Correspondent reports that the DIG rank officer was served the show cause notice by the State Home department asking why he should not be charge sheeted for giving CDs of phone call records to the investigating agencies, including the Nanavati Commission and the Special Investigation Team. Earlier, Sanjeev Bhatt- a senior IPS officer was suspended by the State Government, who had filed an affidavit in the Supreme Court alleging that Chief Minister Narendra Modi had given instructions to target minorities.
