In Assam, senior-most journalist and noted social worker, Naresh Rajkhowa passed away at his Guwahati residence this morning following protracted illness. He was around 85. Rajkhowa served as the Special Correspondent of the popular English daily -The Assam Tribune- initially at Shillong and later in New Delhi. After his retirement from the Assam Tribune Group of newspapers, Rajkhowa served as the Guwahati Correspondent of the Southern-based Deccan Chronicle newspaper published from Bangalore.<br/> <br/>The Chief Minister of Assam Mr. Tarun Gogoi and various other organizations of the State has condoled the death of the octogenarian journalist.<br/>
