The ruling coalition partner Shivsena has given a different poser to Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi's surprise visit to Lahore. The editorial in Party mouthpiece 'Saamana' today stated, in a veiled criticism, that political careers of leaders who got too close to Pakistan have been on the wane following the episode. It also said that the neighboring country's soil is 'cursed' because it is soaked in the blood of innocent Indians. The editorial further stated that it needs to be remembered that the political graph of the politicians starts declining who try to get over-friendly with Pakistan.

Citing an example of BJP stalwart Mr. L K Advani, who once praised Mohammad Ali Jinnah, suffered a setback and was then sidelined. It also mentioned about former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee who went out of his way to start the Lahore Bus and also arranged to meet Musharraf in Agra. But, then the BJP could not come to power under his leadership. It further raised question whether the BJP would have responded similarly and welcomed Congress PM's surprise stopover and visit to Pakistan.
