Shiv Sena has termed Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi's comments on cancellation of Pakistani Singer Mr. Ghulam Ali's concert in Mumbai as 'unfortunate' and reminded him of post-Godhra riots in Gujarat when he was the Chief Minister. Shiv Sena MP Mr. Sanjay Raut made these remarks in Mumbai today while responding to the Prime Minister's comments in an interview to the Bengali daily Ananda Bazar Patrika. The two parties are sharing power in the State and also at the Centre.

Meanwhile, the Bharatiya Janata Party Ministers and the prominent party functionaries are meeting in Mumbai tomorrow. The official agenda of this meeting includes listing achievements during the one-year tenure of the BJP-led Government in the state and the nature of celebrations. But, the issue of strained relations with Shiv Sena and probability of parting ways may also be discussed at this juncture, according to the party sources.

Even as the Shiv Sena leaders have asked the BJP to opt out of coalition if they have any problems with the ally, the party Minister Mr. Ramdas Kadam has dismissed the idea of quitting the Government. Senior BJP leader and State Education Minister Mr. Vinod Tawde has also rejected the possibility of Sena quitting power and asserted that the Government would complete its five-year tenure.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his interview had said that he or his party BJP does not support incidents like the lynching of Mohd. Akhlaq at Dadri in Uttar Pradesh on beef rumours or even the cancellation of proposed musical programme of Pakistani Gazal singer Ghulam Ali. He said, his party or the Centre has had no role in the two unfortunate incidents.

Mr. Modi blamed the opposition for trying to use these sad incidents and indulging in politics of polarisation. Mr Modi also said that he and his party are against what he called pseudo-secularism practiced by the opposition.
