In Puducherry, Mr T.P.R.Selvam was on Wednesday unanimously elected Deputy Speaker of the Territorial Assembly. The Speaker Mr V.Sabapathy announced the election of Mr Selvam, who was elected from the Manadipet Assembly constituency. Earlier, as the house met this morning, Mr. Thamizselvan, who was elected from the Indira Nagar Assembly constituency in the recent by election was sworn in as member of the house.Later, the Opposition Congress and DMK members staged a walk out after the Speaker refused permission to raise issues including the whereabouts of Education Minister Mr Kalyasundaram who has been accused of using a proxy to write the class ten exams.After the members greeted the newly elected Deputy Speaker, the house was adjourned Sine dieMeanwhile, Mr Kalyanasundram, appeared a Tindivanam court in neighbouring Tamil Nadu, after it had issued summons, in connection with the case relating to alleged impersonation in the class ten exams. The court directed Mr Kalayanasundaram to appear before it again on the 11th of this month.
